Olive Oil Roads

Banjolac

  • Good

A really good debut for Mario Crnobori\'s farm, which has been active in Banjole since 2005. It is a small estate with little more than 1 hectare of specialized olive grove and 320 trees of local varieties. In the last harvest 42 quintals of olives were produced, with a yield of almost 6 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil. The farm selection proposed to the panel is the excellent Extra Virgin Banjolac. It is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with delicate green hues. Its aroma is ample and elegant, characterized by fruity hints of white apple and unripe tomato, together with notes of aromatic herbs, especially basil and parsley. Its taste is rotund and complex, endowed with a vegetal flavour of lettuce, fresh broad beans and celery. Bitterness and pungency are present and harmonic. It would be ideal on salmon appetizers, steamed beans, tomato salads, baked potatoes, legume purée, pasta with chanterelle mushrooms, stewed shrimps, grilled cuttlefish, baked rabbit, barbecued poultry, goat cheese.
